Add an Unwanted Caller to the Phone’s Block List

A reject list is commonly called a block list in current calling apps. Use the controls in the app receiving the call. Blocking a number on your device is separate from asking an organisation to stop using it for marketing.

Identify the calling app

Check whether you use Samsung Phone, another manufacturer’s app or a carrier service. Menu names can vary. Use the documentation matching the installed app instead of searching for an old setting that may no longer appear.

Add the intended number

Samsung’s current guide describes the Phone app’s Settings and Block numbers controls. Check the complete entry before confirming it. If the unwanted call displayed a spoofed number, blocking that entry may not stop calls appearing under different numbers.

Review broad blocking choices

Understand the effect before enabling a setting that filters unknown callers. Consider expected calls from services or people not yet in your contacts. Choose the narrow control needed rather than disabling or enabling unrelated features without review.

Keep a separate complaint record

Preserve useful details if you intend to report suspicious or repeated calls. A block-list entry records a local preference, not proof that the caller deleted your details. For a known legitimate business, use its verified opt-out route separately where appropriate.
