Is My Phone Number Visible on Facebook?
A phone number associated with a Facebook account is not automatically visible to every visitor. Visibility depends on where the number appears and the audience selected for that information. Check the profile field, account settings and posts as separate locations.
Review profile contact information
Open your profile’s contact-information area and inspect the audience for the phone-number field. Meta’s Privacy Checkup includes a review of who can see profile information such as phone numbers and email addresses. Choose the audience that matches your intended use. Menu wording can differ between app and browser versions.
Check account use separately
A number used for account recovery, sign-in or security is a different concern from a public profile field. Review the purpose before removing a number that your account uses for access. If you want to change a security setting, follow Meta’s account-security instructions rather than assuming that hiding a profile field changes all account uses.
Inspect posts and pages you control
Look for your number in old posts, images, public comments and business-page contact details. A privacy change to a profile field does not edit a number typed into a public post. Use the available public-view controls to inspect what visitors can see, while recognising that different audiences may see different material.
Handle incorrect publication at the source
Edit information you control and use the publisher’s or platform’s reporting route for other content. Save the specific page address when requesting a correction. If a search engine also displays a private contact detail, its removal process is separate from changing the original Facebook content.
