Canada’s National Do Not Call List: Use the CRTC’s Route

Canada has its own National Do Not Call List, with official information published by the CRTC. Use the Canadian route for a Canadian number. The US registration service is not a substitute for Canada’s process.

Start from the CRTC guidance

The CRTC’s telemarketing page links to National DNCL registration and explains the relevant program. Follow that route rather than a paid intermediary. Check the service identity before providing the details needed for the request.

Register the number concerned

Follow the current instructions for your telephone service and retain confirmation. If a number changes, review the status of the new number instead of assuming the previous registration follows automatically. Keep the record with the exact number involved.

Recognise the limits

The CRTC explains that registration does not prevent every category of call. Review its current guidance for the circumstances. Do not treat a continuing call as proof that the registration failed or that every caller is subject to the same rule.

Report through the appropriate process

Use the official complaint route and keep dates, displayed numbers and any message. Manage unwanted interruptions with carrier or device controls separately. Latest Mailing Database does not operate the National DNCL or guarantee that a number can be removed from every private system.
