Earn Relevant Links by Publishing Something Worth Referencing
A useful link gives a reader a reason to visit another resource. Link-earning work should begin with information worth referencing and the audience that can use it. A purchase of unrelated placements is a different activity.
Choose a referenceable task
Prepare a clear explanation, documented method, maintained directory or original analysis the organisation can support. Make its scope and sources visible. Do not invent research or a customer result merely to create a promotional hook.
Identify a relevant publisher
Review the subject and readers of a potential referring page. Explain the specific information your resource adds. Avoid a generic claim of partnership or an implied relationship that does not exist.
Keep the relationship clear
An editorial reference, sponsorship and affiliate placement require different treatment. Review applicable disclosure and link-qualification requirements. Google’s spam policies address links created primarily to manipulate rankings; a payment does not convert an irrelevant placement into useful editorial evidence.
Maintain the resource
Keep the destination working and correct material errors. Record what outreach was sent and any agreed relationship. Evaluate whether the reference remains useful to readers instead of promising a fixed number of rankings or sales from each link.
