How to Find Your Google Voice Phone Number

Your Google Voice number is attached to the Google Account used for Voice. It can differ from your mobile carrier number and from a phone linked for forwarding. Start by checking the account rather than looking in the phone’s SIM settings.

Find the number in Voice settings

On a computer, sign in at voice.google.com. Open Settings and look under Account for your Voice number. Google’s help page documents this route and explains that an account without a displayed Voice number has not been set up with one. Check which Google Account is active if the result is unexpected.

Separate the numbers in the account

A linked phone can receive forwarded calls, while the Voice number identifies the Voice service. Copy the number from the account’s Voice-number area rather than assuming that every number listed in settings serves the same purpose. A recovery or verification number used elsewhere in a Google Account is another distinct setting.

Check another account before making changes

If you use personal and work accounts, verify which one previously handled your Voice calls. Open the account you control through Google’s normal sign-in process. For an organisation-managed service, ask the administrator about your assignment. Do not create a new number or delete a linked phone solely because the expected number is not immediately visible.

Confirm the contact number you share

Check the service and number you intend to publish on a website, business card or application. Where you also use a carrier line, label the two clearly in your own records. A Google Voice setting describes that account’s service; it does not prove whether the number appears in public search results.
