Publish a Business Phone Number through an Authorised Profile
A public business phone number should be controlled by the organisation and lead to a monitored route. Publish it through the profiles you are authorised to manage. Buying a contact database does not publish your own company in search results.
Confirm control of the line
Choose a number the business can maintain when staff change. Decide who answers it and what happens outside working hours. Avoid making a temporary personal line the permanent public route without considering continuity.
Use the profile’s contact controls
Google’s current instructions describe Edit profile, Contact and the phone-number field. Use the owner or authorised manager account and confirm the intended location. Do not attempt to change another business’s profile through unrelated credentials.
Inspect the public result
Check the visible number and place an appropriate test call after the change is processed. Review the website separately if it also contains the number. A corrected profile does not automatically update every independent directory.
Keep a source inventory
Maintain a short list of important profiles and the people who manage them. Use it when the number changes again. A current publication record is more useful than assuming every old listing will follow one update without review.
