Black Friday and Cyber Monday: Prepare the Whole Offer

A concentrated promotional period puts pressure on more than advertising. Pricing, availability, checkout, delivery and support all affect the customer experience. Prepare the entire offer before adding traffic, and use the business’s own evidence rather than old market-wide spending statistics.

Make the offer understandable

Identify the included products, prices and material conditions. Substantiate comparison prices and claims rather than presenting a discount percentage without a valid basis. A deadline or stock limit should describe a real condition. Check the rules for the markets you serve; FTC advertising guidance is a primary reference for relevant United States requirements.

Test buying and enquiry routes

Follow the campaign link on a phone and a larger screen. Check availability, variations, charges, confirmation and the route for help. Verify what happens when stock runs out or a request is submitted twice. Give technical and operating teams a clear way to pause an offer that no longer matches reality.

Coordinate channels and support

Keep audience preferences and exclusions available when preparing email or other messages. Avoid several teams sending competing versions of the same promotion. Prepare support staff with the current offer, material limits and escalation route. A high response rate becomes a problem if the business cannot fulfil or explain the promise.

Review contribution after the event

Reconcile orders, cancellations, refunds, fulfilment and campaign costs. State how sales were attributed and what the reporting window covers. Keep unresolved customer issues visible when assessing success. Document which offers and processes remained usable under pressure before repeating the campaign with a larger budget.
