Evaluate a Free Email Marketing Plan Before Importing Data

A free email plan can help test a small programme, but the label does not describe all the conditions. Compare the current plan against the work you need to run. Prices and allowances change, so verify them directly before moving your data.

Write the required workflow

List the form, welcome message, segments and campaign schedule. Include the number of staff who need access. A plan is not suitable merely because its contact allowance fits if a necessary automation or permission control is unavailable.

Inspect the limits together

Check contact counting, monthly sends, daily limits, branding and support. Ask what happens when a limit is reached. Keep the date of the comparison so a later pricing change is not mistaken for an error in your campaign records.

Check collection and import rules

Review the platform’s rules for the audience source and intended messages. Test a small permitted sample with the correct statuses. A free account does not remove permission requirements or allow suppressed contacts to become subscribed again.

Plan the exit before committing

Inspect available exports, retained fields and subscription-status handling. Confirm what can move to another platform and what needs separate records. Compare the expected paid plan as well, so a successful test does not leave the business with an operating cost it did not consider.
