The History of my Blog – Lights and Shadows

I really wanted to tell you a bit about the experience of my blog, tell you about mistakes and blunders I’ve had and also those aspects that have made me not lose the illusion of staying hooked in the Blogger world. If I look back when I decide to create the blog chief information officer email database , I would have to go back 4 years ago and place myself in the summer of 2011, when I do not take the blog seriously at all and logically it fails. A year later, during the summer of 2012 I found myself in the situation of having a Blog practically abandoned, probably due to the lack of results and in all safety for many mistakes that I made during my first year as Blogger, as it may be that I did not define a content strategy, and for not segmenting well the themes of my blog, I remember talking more about entrepreneurship than marketing, hehehe.

One of the most serious mistakes I made was thinking that my 10 years of experience as a professional in advertising and marketing were a guarantee to succeed with the Blog, but it was a monumental ERROR, I failed for the second time in a row, and I’ll tell you why. I failed I started to publish original contents of great value and based on my experience that 4 friends and 2 family members read, and the Blog never finished taking off. At that time the use of Social Networks was in its infancy and the engagement that was achieved was very low. After a year of publishing and publishing and not exceeding 3,000 visits per month I threw in the towel and temporarily left my blog.

It was just the following year, in the summer of 2013 when I discovered that my mistake was not working on my brand image and letting me know other professionals, so I got down to work and started with this script:

1.- Post a post on my Blog every 15 days. I spent 20% of the time dedicated to the Blog.

2.- Publish two post each week in other Blogs. I spent an 80 of the time dedicated to the Blog.

Create two social profiles; Facebook and Twitter, and I started using these channels to improve my brand image. The first months were very hard, with almost no engagement but I did not get discouraged and I kept working.

More or less at that time I knew Fernando Ferreiro, a great SEO professional who told me that he liked my articles a lot and that he kept writing. Being encouraged by a well-established professional on the Internet is a great support when you start this journey on the Internet. With time Fernando became a constant support of all my publications, and the best, he became a great friend.

During that year I probably chose to publish content in blogs with a lot of popularity and visits so that I can get to know the largest number of professionals in digital marketing and social media.

At the end of the year I decided to present the Blog to the 2013 Logos Awards, with a single objective, which was to get on the list of the 50 best blogs, and I managed to finish in position 32 with great effort.

A few months later, we were in January 2014, I decided to increase the publications of the Blog to a weekly publication, and to reduce by half the external publications, and by that date I met Luis Villanueva, a great SEO professional who congratulated me for a post of my blog that he had liked a lot, I have to admit that the naturalness as he told me I liked it and immediately began to follow this professional in the network.

A few months later the Blogosphere of Marketing nominated 2 Blog articles as the best of the month and also nominated my Blog among the finalists for the best Blog of the year.

On that date, my wife who is a psychologist told me that because I did not form a marriage that had been left without work, and then I thought that why not train 100 people instead of 2 and do a very complete course where I would invite great professionals, and so a little use all my experience working in universities to invest in a social project or as I call a project “flute dog” and I designed a Course of Digital Marketing and Social Media for Beginners of 300 hours, course with social character thanks to the NGO Mar a Mar that sponsored the training.

In this course I invited a total of 14 teachers, to give a master class in what they were experts, among which I would like to highlight José Facchin, who invited him to teach a class on Pinterest, and I remember when he called me on the phone I was doing “running” and I stopped to talk to him, and he said “Hi, I’m José Facchin and I have a missed call from you”, and I answered: Hi Jose, I’m Miguel Florido, and he answers “who? “, And I say” Miguel de Marketing and Web “, and that’s when he recognized me and I knew who he was. I always like to tell this real anecdote because during that year I had worked hard on the brand image of my Blog, that is the image of Marketing and Web
