Allo the ‘Whatsapp’ of Google about service news

Until a little over a month ago, Hangouts was the messaging service offered by the internet giant. No doubt Google stands out for resorting to the strategy of covering all possible fields and sectors, buy youtube views launching as many projects as possible, since, with a few results that are profitable, they will more than compensate for the investment in unsuccessful projects. But it seems that the big company has a big thorn in what instant messaging is concerned, given their failed attempts, such as the aforementioned Hangouts and Google Talk before him or even the “Google+ messages.” Since last September 21 Google has returned to the charge with a new instant messaging application, Allo, that has broken into the app stores with high hopes from Google and users who expect a better chat experience.

Allo aims to offer the same experience as always, but improved with the addition of Google Assistant , which will offer an intelligent system to detect and combat digital harassment, as well as respond to natural language, allowing searches in google without leaving the conversation.

The latter makes Allo a serious competition for current instant messaging applications and as a messaging app it is promising thanks to the incorporation of its artificial intelligence system ( Google Assistant ). But it has just started and there is still a long way to go to win over the skeptical users who were disappointed by Hangouts at the time.

Allo’s privacy: incognito mode

Allo, as happens with WhatsApp, has encryption of messages from point to point , to ensure the privacy of conversations and their security. That is, only the sender and receiver of the message can read it.

It also offers an incognito mode that includes encryption, conversations with expiration date and private notifications. Something that neither of the two main Apps is currently offering.

The good thing about Allo

Inside the good thing is that it is available so much for IOS as for Android , and that it counts on the assistant of Google .

It also has end-to-end encryption and stands out especially for its incognito mode that automatically erases conversations.

The bad of Allo

The video call is not integrated yet and it does not have all the features that its other competitors have already implemented, such as the control of reading and receiving messages , among many others.

Allo, innovative but …

It only has a month of life, and at the time of writing these lines has between 5 and 10 million downloads only on Google Play and highly valued in the Google store.

But his shooting has just begun, and he has much to improve. Its main asset, the incorporation of Google Assistant is also its weak point at this time, since it is only available in English. It will undoubtedly soon be available in other languages, but until then it will not be able to attract users who are already immersed and accustomed to using the most popular instant messaging applications.
